2026 Range Rover Sport Engine & Performance Guide
There is a lot to like about the Range Rover Sport, and as with any off-road capable luxury vehicle, versatility is one of the most important qualities. One of the many ways that the Range Rover Sport achieves this is the availability of multiple drivetrains. Depending on what sort of performance you’re after in your Range Rover Sport, you can select one of six available drivetrain options. And to help you make an informed decision, we’ve put together this guide to the advanced engines and drivetrains available in the Range Rover Sport.

SE 3.0 Liter 6-Cylinder
Key Features
- Available in SE trim
- 355 horsepower / 369 lb-ft of torque
- 0-60 in 5.7 seconds
- Towing capacity – 7,716 pounds
- Fuel Economy – 20 mpg city / 25 mpg highway / 22 mpg combined
The standard drivetrain for the Range Rover Sport, and the only one offered with the SE trim. The engine is a 3.0-liter inline-six mated to a mild hybrid system for improved low-end acceleration and smoother shifts. An excellent balance of performance and fuel economy.

Dynamic SE 3.0 Liter 6-Cylinder
Key Features
- Available in Dynamic SE trim
- 395 horsepower / 406 lb-ft of torque
- 0-60 in 5.2 seconds
- Towing capacity – 7,716 pounds
- Fuel Economy – 20 mpg city / 25 mpg highway / 22 mpg combined
For the Dynamic SE trim, the 3.0-liter engine gets a power upgrade that trims a half a second off the 0-60 time. That’s a pretty significant difference as far as 0-60 times go, yet there is no difference in fuel economy ratings, which is some impressive engineering. And like the other version of the 3.0-liter engine, this one is mated to a mild hybrid system.

Dynamic SE 3.0 Liter 6-Cylinder Plug-In Hybrid
Key Features
- Available in Dynamic SE trim
- 454 horsepower / 487 lb-ft of torque
- 0-60 in 5.3 seconds
- Towing capacity – 6,614 pounds
- Fuel Economy – 53 MPGe
There are two plug-in hybrid drivetrains available for the Range Rover Sport. The one found in the Dynamic SE trims has the internal P460e designation. It offers a big power boost and an enormous bump in fuel economy. DC fast charging is available too, so you can continue to enjoy that impressive fuel economy even on longer trips.

Autobiography 3.0 Liter 6-Cylinder Plug-In Hybrid
Key Features
- Available in Autobiography trim
- 454 horsepower / 487 lb-ft of torque
- 0-60 in 4.7 seconds
- Towing capacity – 6,614 pounds
- Fuel Economy – 53 MPGe
Move up to the Autobiography trim and you get an upgraded version of the PHEV drivetrain, known internally as the P550e. This version on the plug-in hybrid drivetrain comes with all of the strengths found in the P460e, namely the 53 MPGe fuel economy rating and DC fast charging, but with even more power on tap. It’s enough power to trim half a second off the 0-60 time.

4.4 Liter V8
Key Features
- Available in Dynamic SE and Autobiography trims
- 523 horsepower / 553 lb-ft of torque
- 0-60 in 4.3 seconds
- Towing capacity – 7,716 pounds
- Fuel Economy – 16 mpg city / 23 mpg highway / 19 mpg combined
When you want V8 power, there is no substitute. While the plug-in hybrid drivetrain found in the Autobiography does produce more power, the 4.4-liter V8 offered in the Dynamic SE and Autobiography is still a fair bit quicker. This responsive and robust engine allows you to make the most of your Range Rover Sport experience.

SV V8
Key Features
- Available in SV, SV Black, and SV Carbon trims
- 626 horsepower / 553 lb-ft of torque
- 0-60 in 3.7 seconds
- Towing capacity – 7,716 pounds
- Fuel Economy – 16 mpg city / 22 mpg highway / 18 mpg combined
The SV is the ultimate Range Rover Sport, with more of everything that makes the Range Rover Sport such an appealing vehicle. The V8 engine has the same 4.4-liter displacement as the V8 in the Dynamic SE and Autobiography, and it makes the same amount of torque. But the SV has more than a hundred more horsepower, making it the only engine for the Range Rover Sport that produces a sub-4-second 0-60 time.
