As you can see, just choosing a body style, trim, and drivetrain can be an involved process. But that’s part of what gives the Range Rover such an important edge over its competitors, this level of customization isn’t exactly the norm. Long wheelbase variants come in two configurations: the seven seat version is largely similar to the standard wheelbase, just longer to allow for a third row of seats. The other long wheelbase variant is stretched to allow for more second-row legroom, and is generally the Range Rover of choice for anyone who is also going to be employing a chauffeur.
Drivetrain availability varies by trim, with the 3.0-liter I6 only being available for the SE, and the version of the 4.4-liter V8 with the 607-horsepower tune being limited to SV variants. But apart from that, drivetrain choice will largely be a question of personal preference for the level of power you’re looking for. The exception is the plug-in hybrid drivetrain, which boasts some impressive power, but is also by far the most efficient drivetrain offered, capable of a combined 53 MPGe and an all-electric driving range of 50 miles.
Range Rover Customization
Range Rover gives you an incredible range of aesthetic choices for things like paint and interior colors and materials. Most trims are available with a choice of 31 different paint colors, with een special SV colors being available on the SE and Autobiography trims. The only exception is the SV Ultra, which has its own unique selection of 11 specially created colors. Wheel design options are similarly extensive, but are more specific to individual trims. Sizing ranges from 21 inches to 23 inches.
Interior customization options aren’t just limited to the wide range of color options for the seat upholstery and headliner. A variety of trim materials and colors are offered as well, and can include things like metal inlay or marquetry. SV trims also offer the option of ceramic controls, including the great shifter, in white.
The interior is well equipped no matter what the configuration, but there are add-ons like a fridge or a rear-seat entertainment system that includes a pair of screens mounted to the backs of the front seats. One feature that is unique to the Range Rover and available only on SV trims is the SV ElectroAcoustic Sound system. This system replaces traditional speakers with electrostatic panels in the headrests, seat backs, and existing speaker locations. These panels have a response time 1,000 times greater than a traditional speaker, for unbelievably clear audio. There are also five traditional bass speakers and haptic feedback is applied through the seats and floor. A $12,570 option, this is by far the most advanced stereo system available for any vehicle on the market.
Range Rover Shopping Tips
Now that you know what goes into picking out your Range Rover, there are a few more things to know. Most important is that custom orders can take a while, wait times are measured in months. A lot of factors go into the exact time, from trim level and extent of the customization to various supply chain details and the volume of orders the factory is handling at any given time. Shopping from our existing inventory is a great way to sidestep this issue, reducing wait time from months to minutes. There is also the option of certified pre-owned inventory, which expands your selection while still offering things like warranty coverage and roadside assistance. CPO Range Rovers receive a 165-point inspection and full vehicle history report. Whatever path you choose, Land Rover Easton is here to help you get the Range Rover you want.
