To start off this comparison, we’ll take a closer look at the base trim levels of both the Discovery and Defender 110. If you need to carry more than 5 passengers, the Discovery is the better choice thanks to its standard 5+2 seating configuration. Both come standard with identical 2.0L P300 Gas i4 engines producing the same power figures. However, there are some key differences between the available engine upgrades.
Discovery Dynamic SE models have an available P360 inline 6-cylinder producing 355 horsepower. Stepping up to the Defender 110 X-Dynamic SE means you’ll also receive an upgraded inline 6-cylinder engine. This one also comes with a mild hybrid system, but output is a bit higher, with a total of 395 horsepower. There’s also a muscular 5.0-liter supercharged V8 and a 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 available on the Defender 110 for maximum performance.

In terms of overall cargo capacity, it’s the Defender 110 that offers an additional 4.5 cubic feet of space compared to the Discovery. All other interior measurements are within one inch of the other with the lone exception being rear legroom measurements inside of the Defender 110. Since it lacks the standard third row of seating that you’ll find in the Discovery, second-row passengers have a bit more room to stretch out.
